Indian Born Deep Nishar Decides To Step Down From Position

Deep Nishar, the head of product at LinkedIn, has announced his departure from the company. Nishar has been with the company for six years, having previously worked for Google in a similar product management capacity. He recently joined a number of boards, including the board of Auction.com.

In a statement issued at re/code, LinkedIn noted that Nishar joined LinkedIn when the professional networking site had just 30 million members, and under his watch the site grew to 313 million members. LinkedIn thanks Deep Nishar for his dedication over the years, and wishes him all the best as he embarks on his future endeavors.

Sometimes changes are big and the public is really aware of them. Other times they are small and anyone outside of the company probably won't notice. It is hard to say what will be the case with LinkedIn in the upcoming months and years. In our social media world, there are always a lot of changes going on. People don't tend to stay with the same company for 30 years anymore. People move around and try different things during the course of their careers. They might stay somewhere for 5-10 years and then move on.

LinkedIn is an incredibly popular business networking site, and many people use it as a part of their daily routine. It is used by headhunters and recruiters, executives, employees, PR and the press. What started initially as a simple "online CV" has since turned into an integral part of day to day business for many niches.

Nishar started working for LinkedIn when the website had about 30 million members, and the population of the site has grown tenfold since then. Nishar has not disclosed what he plans to do next, or which company he will be working with. He has joined several boards recently, and has made it clear that he wants to work with a company that has the potential to "make a significant positive impact". He has an advisory role with Auction.com, and is also a board member of TripAdvisor and Opower.

Deep Nishar, LinkedIn's head of products and user experience has announced that he will be leaving the company as of October 3rd, having spent six years working with the popular professional networking site. Nishar came to the website from Google, where he previously worked in a similar product-focused capacity. Nishar says that he is looking forward to having the opportunity to help another vibrant young company grow in the way that he grew Google and LinkedIn.
