How To Meet Your Online Nintendo Fanatic Friends Offline

By Claudine Hodges

As a gamer, it is only natural to be active in on-line groups that deal with the types of online game that you love. This is the place where you get to meet a lot of people who have the same likes as you. It is also a place where you can speak about the same topics without running out of things to say to those individuals who are similar to you.

Nowadays, there are a lot of groups online that are catering to those who are into gaming and stuff. It should not be a difficult task for you to find other Nintendo fanatic through these groups. You can then find more friends than you can imagine. Through these groups, you can talk about games that you are too familiar with.

When you have been in this group for a long time, it will be high time for you to be invited for an IRL meeting. The said meeting is when you will meet up with those friends you made in the Internet. To those who are asked to attend the said meeting, here are a few of the tips that you should take into consideration.

First, only agree to meet up with your online friends in a public place. Even if you have already talked with this online friend for a long time, this person is still a stranger to you. Thus, take the time to get to know this online friend in person. Try the local restaurant as a public place to meet up.

It is oftentimes okay to bring a friend when the meeting is held. Of course, you might ask for permission from the administrator of the meeting if you really want to bring a friend with you. When you bring a friend, you should be able to keep yourself considerably safe.

It is fine to expect the online friends to not creep you out during the meeting. Most importantly, you must not be creepy yourself. You have to show impeccable manners and be courteous to the online friends you are meeting up. No matter how long you are friends with them online, they are still strangers.

Listen to your guts. If your guts is telling you that the person you are about to meet is someone who is fishy, then you can just decline the invitation to meet up in real life. You should not be afraid to say no because you really do not know them that well. There is no worry of offending them then.

Do your own research. If someone has asked to meet up with you in real life, you have to get to know a little bit about them. Try to know some things about this person beforehand. This should allow you to determine whether or not this person is a weirdo. What you learn about this person can also be a conversation starter.

You have to be wary of the things you talk about with this person. Try to keep your personal issues personal. Do not expose yourself too much to the people you just met for the first time. Try to keep the topic at a level that is okay to share.
